Augmented Ecofeminisms

Intro
project

The exhibition Augmented Ecofeminisms: Climate, Water and Women, organized by the AIL Gender & Science Group and funded by the Spanish Ministry of Equality, invites us to pause and reflect on the effects of climate change on freshwater ecosystems and their deep connection with women. Through an immersive journey that combines augmented reality with scientific, artistic, and audiovisual materials, the authors question the current management of water resources and open windows to possible futures through critical and transformative perspectives.

This project stems from the collaboration between illustrator Roser Cussó, animator Mak Džinovi, director Laura Carrau, and graphic designer Anna Pigem. Together, we have worked to respond to the needs expressed by the gender group of the Iberian Limnology Association.

It is an example of how the union of art and science can enrich knowledge and make it more accessible, understandable, and relatable to society. A way of communicating science that not only informs but also connects with people on an emotional level.
